A beautiful suite offering 2 bedrooms, kitchenette and private bath. You will love being able to walk to all of the restaurants, bars, shops, and museums the neighborhood has to offer.
We are always happy to talk and give local tips and suggestions, and just ask if you need anything.
The Wiltwyck is only a few blocks from the Trailways bus stop. Uber and Lyft both operate in the area making it super easy to get here from the Rhinecliff Amtrack station as well.
You will enter the house from the front door into the central hall. The suite is on the second floor of the house and you will have your own keys to the front door as well as your suite. Entering your suite, you will walk into into the kitchenette/dining area where you will find a table and chairs, and kitchenette with a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, induction burner, electric kettle and French Press. The bedroom with the queen bed is off of the kitchenette to the left, and the other bedroom with the full size bed is to the right through a set of Antique French Doors. The bathroom is off of that bedroom. This space works well for families, or close friends who don't mind having to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the bathroom.

The Stockade District of Kingston, New York, also known as Uptown Kingston, is a neighborhood steeped in history and brimming with culture and entertainment. Originally known as Wiltwyck, it was one of the first Dutch settlements in the 1600s and was surrounded by a stockade fence, giving it its current name.
Music lovers will find plenty to enjoy in the Stockade District, with live music events happening regularly and the recently renovated UPAC, which offers concerts and theatrical performances throughout the year. Art enthusiasts will appreciate the neighborhood's First Saturdays Gallery Walk, where they can check out the latest art shows, sample wine and cheese, and even purchase something to take home. The district is also home to some of the most impressive murals in the country, thanks to the popular O+ festival, which invites some of the best mural artists to showcase their work.
History buffs will find much to explore in the Stockade District, with the Senate House Museum and Park located right across the street from the Wiltwyck, along with the Senate Garage, making it the perfect place to stay for visitors attending weddings there. The Four Corners, the only intersection in the country with four stone houses that predate the Revolution, is a must-see. The Matthew Pearson House, now a museum open to visitors, and the Rough Draft Bookstore and Bar, where visitors can enjoy a drink and a bite to eat while browsing books, are located in this intersection.
Families with children will appreciate the Antique Fire Truck Museum, where kids can hop in and ring the bell, see the horse-drawn water tanks, and view a huge collection of helmets and other gear. The Catskill Mountain Railroad offers a chance for the whole family to take in the local scenery and enjoy holiday-themed rides, such as the Polar Express. The Stockade District is also home to the best Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings.
Foodies will be in heaven in the Stockade District, with world-class restaurants found on every block, including coffee shops, organic eateries, and a vintage cocktail bar that has been featured in the New York Times. If you're looking to explore the other end of town, you'll be treated to more great restaurants, shops, a maritime museum, a trolly museum, and a beautiful waterfront walkway. The Stockade District of Kingston truly has something for everyone and is the perfect destination for a visit filled with culture, entertainment, and history.
The neighborhood is extremely walking friendly, you don't need a car if you just want to enjoy a weekend here. Uber and Lyft are available to get to the other parts of town, as well as a city and county bus. If you want to take day trips to other destinations a car is helpful. We do have off street parking, (if it snows, only 4 wheel drive cars with snow tires will be able to get up our driveway though) and are about 5 short blocks fromTrailways Bus Station. We are about 20 min from the Amtrack station in Rhinecliff, and 35 min from the train station in Poughkeepsie
PARKING: We have some parking behind our house, usually enough so that each reservation can park one vehicle. The driveway is to the right of our house and you can park to the left of the telephone pole at the back edge of the lot. Our neighbors own everything to the right of the telephone pole and get very upset when people park on their side. Please do not park on their side of the lot for any reason, no matter how short of a time. Please have any friends or guests who may be dropping you off, picking you up, or visiting utilize street side parking on John St, Fair St, or further down on Clinton Ave. There are also public parking lots nearby on Schwenk Dr. and North Front Street, as well as free parking behind the County Building on Main St on nights and weekends (they also have a free EV charging station).

This apartment is in an absolutely fabulous location. It's super walkable and there are great restaurants right around the corner. The apartment is incredibly clean and Julie is proactive in reaching out and very responsive. The seating and hangout space is a bit limited in the apartment, but it's otherwise comfortable and a great place to stay.

Julie's Airbnb was absolutely wonderful!! We were in town for a wedding that was across the street, so it was extremely convenient. Check in/check out was very chill and easy and the rooms were absolutely beautiful. Very cozy, safe, clean and was exactly what we needed. I'm grateful it worked out to stay here and hope to stay again!
Stayed July 2023I stayed a Julie's home for a getaway weekend with 2 girlfriends. The location was perfect to explore the Hudson Valley. The apartment is within their family house, and had great light, comfortable beds & bedding, and was clean. From the listing description we expected to be able to cook, but there is no stove and only one warmer and one small pan. The kitchen is lovely, but definitely not sufficient for a homemade meal/breakfast for 3. The front bedroom is filled with light, but not ideal for light sleepers as you can hear cars & buses passing by. Also the bathroom is not accessible from the kitchen or the second bedroom, so you have to through the front bedroom for access. If privacy is a must, please keep this in mind. The 3 of us agreed it's a good place for friends and family getaways, rather than a romantic getaway. Needless to say we had a great time & experience.
