About Owners

Sean and Julie Griffin are the owners of The Wiltwyck and have lived in Uptown Kingston with their family since 2006. Sean is a musician and composer, and Julie, an Army veteran, homeschools their six children. The Griffin family can often be found at Forsyth Park on the playground, visiting the animals at the petting zoo, or getting tamales at the Farmer's market on Saturday mornings. The Griffin children are 11th-generation New Yorkers through Julie's side of the family who we have traced back to early Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam (NYC) and Kingston, called Wiltwyck at the time. Thomas Theunissen Quick (Julie's 8th great-grandfather, and son of indentured brick mason Teunis Tomassen Quick who immigrated from Holland and helped build Fort Amsterdam) and Rymerick Jurriaensen were married right around the corner at the Old Dutch Church in 1672.
